Race Prep Motorsports came home 17 in the Grand Sports class of yesterday's Daytona 250 Grand Am Cup Race. Driver Mike Pickett started the race from the back of the grid because the car didn't post a qualifying time, but Mike quickly worked his way through the pack and had the car in contention at the halfway point. Spencer then took the wheel of the #19 Porsche and left the pits only to have the gas pedal brake in turn 6. Using his hand to hold the throttle wire down Spencer nursed the car back to the pits where the crew had it fixed in a matter of seconds, but the time lost out on the track took the RPM team out of contention. Despite the small problem, the speed of the new car was encouraging for everyone involved. Look for this team to find the poduim soon.
