Saturday morning Report
The 35 car, after what Randy Pobst called "heroic" efforts by Zip, Fordahl, and several other Grand Am team members rolled out onto the track for the last few minutes of Friday practice. Randy explored the limits and compromises, then Kim Hiskey took a few laps, and the car although not 100% was deemed raceable.

The tragic SPR incident and the subsequent police investigation caused Grand Am to cancel qualifying and grid the cars according to TOP points.

Saturday morning warm up (77 degrees, 73% humidity) went well. Spencer put in a 1:20.375 for fastest time in GT, Randy Pobst's time of 1:21.543 in the 35 car was good enough for 4th GT time (Said in the BMW and Buckler's Porsche being slightly quicker).

The 35 car is on the scales as some "wedge" is being dialed in to deal with what appears to be a twisted unibody.

Both Spencer and Randy are expressing concern about the wind that is gusting and may be getting stronger. Pobst reports that the downforce goes away on the oval with the wind coming on behind and then the car is getting pushed to the wall on exit as the direction changes and the wind moves the car over precipitously close to the wall.
