VIR Test a Success
Testing this past Tuesday on VIR's Full Course was a success! The track will be one of the toughest of the season because of the sheer number of turns and the setup compromises that will be required. The track has a lot of slow corners, most are second gear, but then you get to the esses! This is probably the most exciting section of racetrack I have ever driven. It is a sixth gear, 155mph section S-turns that cannot quite be taken flat so the drivers are really working through there. I can't say for sure but it feels as if the car is completely off the ground in one spot, at 155mph. This will be even more interesting in traffic.

Also on hand at the test were Steve Ivankovic and Brent Sherman, who both drove well on the new course, and Terry Labonte and PJ Jones were also sharing the track with ZIP. It was interesting watching the Porsche and Stock cars back to back. According to our watches, it would be a good race between the two.

The VIR race is September 1st with practice and qualifying on the 30th and 31st. If you are in the VA area make plans to attend. It will be anyone's guess as to how all the cars will manage to get through the esses without some misadventures.
