Rain Hits VIR
Today marked the first official day of practice for the Virginia 500. The morning session was wet, but both Steve and Randy turned laps. The car was handling well for the conditions and the team feels they have their wet setup resolved in case Sunday's weather is similar. There was a slight incident that involved Steve, a tire wall, and maybe even some chickens, but once again the Zip crew has everything handled and ready for the next session.

The second was once again wet, but with no falling rain the track dried quickly. Spencer took the car out for a few laps as the track dried, but a black flag ended the run that saw Zip racing near the front of the time sheet. Randy then took control of the Zip Porsche and turned a few laps in the now dry track. Randy was able to turn a time that put the car second on the GT time sheet, with a lap of 1:54.6. Steve then got back in the car and continued to turn solid laps. So far the car has been running well on all fronts, and Spencer won the coin toss so he will try for the pole tomorrow.

Check back tomorrow night for qualifying results.
