Thanks to DLM for keeping pumpellyracing.com updated! The cars and the team are doing well but we are still looking to improve for tomorrow's race. Things are just a little different in the Dominican Republic, but were are all having a great time and getting adjusted. The track is a little bumpier than most in the US but it isn't as bad as a typical street course. There are a few holes off the side of the track, but they are minor as you can see. We have been learning about the local culture as well, which has been tough. Very tough as you can see here:
There are also things here that you just don't see at tracks in the US.
The track is really tight and tough to pass so patience will be key. The team is doing a great job putting up with the dust and heat. I will try to update the site again after the race. Spencer Dear Spencer: Looks like you are working very hard. Hope you are having a good time. I am here in Atlanta wondering who my daddy is. Love, Connor Johnson 3/12/2005 Thanks Spencer and DLM so much for the updates! keep 'em coming! All the best in the race tomorrow! The photos are amazing and gives us a better idea of the differences good and bad! i ESPECIALLY love the colors in the red one...it is a cover for National Geographic..I will alert Deborah Jones! Thinking of you and smiling! Your mamma 3/12/2005 Hola, Cabrone! I am pleased to see you sampling the native delights, send one up to Gt. Barrington. Please, oh, please. Actually, send the whole six pack. The mind boggles as one does the math. Oh, and as for the "man out standing in his field" shot. One might humbly suggest keeping the freakin' car on track!!! And this advice is coming from the geriatric karter who is wanted by several wildlife presevation groups (alligators, haybales, etc. etc) for his offtrack explorations of a substantial part of the Florida Everglades. Go out and win one for the Webbber!!! dlm 3/12/2005 The No. 28 Race Prep Motorsport Porsche 966 of Andy Lally qualified 10th but was later moved to the back of the starting grid after failing to meet the minimum weight requirement in post qualifying technical inspection. www.grandamerican.com 3/13/2005 Spence, Awesome run in Miami! great team effort and nice drivin to bring it home P3.... congrats!
