5/1/2005 Thanks everyone for posting and keeping track of what is going on here at the track. First, the #37 again ran strong today with JLC doing much of the driving duties. Unfortunatley, in qualifying, a rim with a damaged valve stem found it's way onto the car. When John went out everything was OK but as the tire temp began to come up to racing temperature the extra pressure that builds up was enough to break the valve stem. The tire went flat suddenly with no warning sending John into the tire wall in turn 5. Fortunatly he wasn't hurt. The car looked bad but the TPC crew had it back together before the Grand Am Cup race was over and everything is good for tomorrow's race. In Cup Michael Auriemma and I finished 8th. Yesterday an ABS failure sent me hard into the wall in turn 2, but the crew had the car back together for qualifying. Michael started the race in 30th and got it up to 18th and then I got in at the 1 hour mark and was able to take the lead. A late splash put us back in 10th and we ended up 8th. Considering the damage done on Friday it was a great result and an excellent job by Tommy and the RPM crew. Sorry no picture this time.
